1 of Feb - First experience in killing Elk and description of canoe design.
2 of Feb - Preparation for the cold winter and philosophic thougths of Lewis.
3 of Feb - Another Elk hunting for making salts and leather clothing and the party on this reason.
6 of Feb - Elk hunting had become a routine and Clark`s description of flora and fauna of that region.
7 of Feb - The first `excellent supper` and discovery of Columbia Valley
8 of Feb - Lewis is describing the shrub and trees for last three days.
9 of Feb - Lewis and Clark trying to describe new kinds of trees and shrubs collecting leafs and bark.
10 of Feb - Indians are hunting Elks with help of tomohawk and one indian had an injury, he cut his knee. Describtion of the new tree called big leaf maple. Bark of that tree is used for making smoking pipes.
13 of Feb - They are describing a new kind of briar with hooked spines. Also indians were making bags from different kinds of leather, bark and grass where they retained fish, barries and others.
16 of Feb - Clark is fond of spending his time with indians, helping them but Lewis is trying to learn more about medicine, different trees and flowers.
17 of Feb - Indians were hunting at Point Adams where they killed a lot of Elk wich would be used for the new meat supplies.
20 of Feb - At that day tribe was visited by the new chief called Tacum. He arrived with 25 men of his tribe. Captains never mentioned him before. They had a party where they eating elk meat and smoking pipes.
21 of Feb - Indians collected salt from the sea water. Salt jobs had finally finished.
22 of Feb - Natives was very nice basketmakers so they made some hats for captains with grass and bark. In that way they expressed their freindship and respect.
23 of Feb - Description of sea otters and seals. Their fur is very quality and nice so indians were hunting them almost to their extinction.
24 of Feb - As the weather had changed indians started to hunt no an elk but fish. Captains are writing that tha way the fish was cooked by indians was the best dish they have ever had. Also ther are writing about the visit if new chief.
27 of Feb - Indians are hunting on squirrels, porcipines and other small animals. Injured native man has almost recovered. Also they are describing a new animal - the braro.
28 of Feb - As it was the last day of the month captains recaped the ways and distances.They also recaped the weather. Indians hunted near the mountains where was a plenty of elks. They also was very thank to captains because they gave them some fishing hooks.
